Louis Vuitton’s Paris Fashion Week Showcase Is An Undeniable Acceptance of Virgil Abloh’s Irreplaceability
Alongside the London Fashion Week, the Milan Fashion Week and the New York Fashion Week, the Paris Fashion Week constitutes one of the biggest fashion events in the world.
The renowned luxury brand, Louis Vuitton had an amazing outing at the Paris Fashion Week featuring award-winning rapper, Kendrick Lamar as a guest performer who kept uttering Virgil at the end of each line.
Fashion model and icon, Naomi Campbell was also one of the top personalities that graced the occasion seated by the American rapper during his performance. Some prominent names in attendance include Lola Leon, and Jorja Smith.
Asides the illusory performance and bold fashion statements that accompanied Louis Vuitton’s showcase, Virgil Abloh, the now late founder of OffWhite and creative director of Louis Vuitton stole the show even in his death.
LV’s showcase was no doubt a tributary to Abloh, one of the few black icons that hemmed a majority fashion house in the world of luxury.
Virgil Abloh made more than a mark in the global fashion industry asides becoming the first black American to be artistic director of a French Fashion House. His contributions to the critical acclaim and ingenious creative expressions of Louis Vuitton leaves so much to tell and the brand’s showcase at the Paris Fashion Week took a cue immensely from the muse that inspired Virgil’s creative direction.
It is not without a doubt that Louis Vuitton would for a long time feel the nostalgia of Virgil’s absence part of which will constitute the brand’s subsequent collections.
