London Fashion Week: Christopher Ritter Studios AW2022 Collections
Uncutxtra was invited by Harriet Spence, the Director of the223agency, London, to attend Christopher Ritter’s digital presentation with Discovery LAB ahead of the London Fashion Week.
London-based designer, Christopher Ritter describes his 2022 Autumn/Winter collection as “The Ladder”.
According to him, Autumn/Winter 2022 (AW22) is an exploration of futurism, intercultural allyship and virtual self-idealisation.
Ritter designs for eco-conscious club kids and redefines the general idea of power dressing inspired by sustainability, radical innovation alongside climactic glamour.
The famed designer uses digital abstraction to create stunning fashion pieces that elevate and empower the wearer to reach their full potential of self-expression.
The fashion film exhibited at the presentation was directed by Ben Cole. The art was however directed by Magda Kaczmarska. The film showcases the vast spectrum of London’s club culture.
Shot in Ritter’s design studio, reinvented as a club, it features artists, models and real-life club kids.
It is a brutal yet honest representation of Ritter’s experience of London’s nightlife.
At the core of the collection are printed Lycra staples including shapewear, catsuits and bodycon dresses made of textiles. These are derived from recycled plastic bottles and fishing nets ‘harvested’ from the oceans.
The pieces are designed to provide vibrant sex appeal, high performance, and comfort. The eclectic prints are compositions of colours and textures found in nature, cultural landmarks, and digital fantasies.
Alongside the IRL collection, Christopher Ritter made it known that key pieces will be launched as fashion NFTs.
Also, in partnership with the digital creator platform ‘Rally’, CHRISTOPH RITTER STUDIO is introducing its sustainable clubwear into the METAVERSE.
Highlights such as balaclavas and gowns will be made available as fully 3D rendered digital garments entering a new era of fashion and WEB3.
