BBNaija’s Adekunle Thanks Lagos Police for Action in Alleged Brutality Case
BBNaija star Adekunle Olopade has revisited his police brutality complaint, this time expressing gratitude to the Lagos State Police Command for the swift action taken after he raised the alarm. He admitted that recent days had been overwhelming but said things had finally taken a positive turn.
According to him, “These past few days have been tough, and the only updates you’ve heard from me reflected that. But right now, I have good news. I want to thank the Lagos State Police Command’s Complaint Response Unit for responding quickly. They reached out immediately after the story broke, took action right away, and kept following up to ensure everything was in order.”
Throughout the process, Adekunle stayed in contact with senior police officers to ensure transparency and justice. He revealed that he had been engaging the ACP overseeing Area J Command in Elemoro, Ibeju Lekki, giving her all necessary details with hopes that the officers involved would be identified and held accountable.
His visit to the station confirmed progress. “I’m pleased to let you know I just left Elemoro Police Station, and thanks to ACP Oluyemisi Ojo’s effort and investigation, the officers responsible have been found and disciplined. Justice has been served! The emotional weight I’ve carried these past days has finally eased,” he shared.
Adekunle urged Nigerians not to stay silent when faced with police misconduct. He encouraged victims to gather evidence and file reports, emphasizing that the Lagos Complaint Response Unit is effective and dedicated to both citizen safety and cleaning out wrongdoing within the force. He also pointed out that while there are commendable officers, there are also bad ones, and harassment should never be normalized.
Rounding off, Adekunle thanked everyone who supported him through messages, calls, prayers, and encouragement. He described their support as a blessing and said it reminded him he wasn’t alone. He ended by adding that he is ready to return to focusing on himself again.
